Run a technical site audit

publisher

Crawl your website for technical SEO errors, broken links, meta tags, and mobile readiness.

1. Starting an automated site audit

Clean technical SEO preserves organic traffic and ensures ad viewability.

Navigate to SEO Audits in your sidebar and click Run new audit. Select your verified website, choose crawl depth (default 3 levels), and click Start Audit.

The crawler runs in the background respecting robots.txt rate limits. You can monitor live progress or wait for email completion alerts.

  1. Open SEO Audits and click Run new audit.
  2. Select your website and crawl depth.
  3. Click Start Audit.

2. What the audit checks

The audit inspects critical technical SEO signals across three severity tiers:

- Critical Errors: HTTP 4xx/5xx errors, broken internal links, missing <title> tags, missing description tags, and accidental noindex tags.

- Warnings: Missing image alt attributes, unoptimized heading hierarchies, non-canonical redirects, and heavy uncompressed imagery.

- Notices: Missing Open Graph / Twitter Card social metadata and minor redirect chains.

3. Actionable remediation

Open your completed audit to review prioritized issue lists. Click any issue to see the exact affected page URLs and specific recommendations for remediation.

4. Combining audits with Search Console

Cross-reference audit findings with Google Search Console data to prioritize fixes on your highest-trafficked landing pages first.
